B2B SaaS demo practice
A demo that starts by clicking through features loses its audience. Practise out loud how to ask first and then show what matters to the client.
This page describes training: practising a call with an AI client. DIRI AI does not evaluate employees, and the outcome of a call is not a basis for decisions about people.
The situation: twenty minutes with someone evaluating a tool
The demo is usually attended by a user or a manager who already uses some tool. They want to hear what will change for them, not a list of features.
- The client says they already have a tool they use and that switching would be painful.
- They ask about integration, price or security before you have shown them the value.
- There is a second person on the call who decides but does not speak.
Typical mistakes
A demo most often fails because the step before it was skipped.
- Showing every feature without first asking about the client's workflow.
- Comparing with competitors instead of showing the benefit for their situation.
- Answering the objection “we already have a tool” with a defence instead of a question about what is missing in it.
- No agreement on a concrete next step with a date.
- Overlooking the second participant on the call who makes the decision.
How you practise it in DIRI AI
You can practise the whole demo or just the opening and the first objection. The AI client reacts to what you actually say.
- Write your own scenario: your product, the client's role and the tool they supposedly already use.
- Set the difficulty and the client type, for example a sceptical manager.
- Lead the call: questions about the workflow, a short demonstration, an answer to the objection, the next step.
- The report after the call quotes moments from the transcript and suggests one change.
- Repeat the call with a different opening question and compare your attempts.
A sample from practice
The client claims they already have a tool, and the demo has not even started.
- You
- Before I show you anything, may I ask how invoice approval works for you today and where it most often gets stuck?
- AI client
- We use a spreadsheet and then e-mails. But we have already changed it once and we do not want to deal with that again.
- You
- That makes sense. So the biggest risk is that a change takes up the team's time. I will show you the one step that would replace those e-mails, and you tell me whether it is exactly what gets stuck.
- AI client
- All right, show me. But the decision is made by a colleague from finance.
- You
- Then I suggest a short meeting with the three of us, where I show her the same thing and answer her questions. Would next Tuesday work?
- AI client
- I will ask her and write to you.
This example is fictional. It is not a transcript of a real call and not a sample of an evaluation output.
Frequently asked questions
Can I practise just the opening of the demo, without a screen demonstration?
Yes. DIRI AI is voice practice for a call. You do not share a screen, you practise the questions, the answers and the next step.
Can the AI client claim to use a specific tool?
Yes, you describe it in your own scenario. For practice you do not need an accurate description of a real competing product, a general objection is enough.
Is practice suitable for SDRs as well as account executives?
Yes, the difference is in the scenario you choose. An SDR can practise the first call, an account executive the demo and negotiation.
Can I use the practice in English?
Yes, practice also works in English, German, Polish and Slovak. Scores for calls outside Czech are marked as preliminary.
What are the limits of the Free plan?
One voice call a day, up to five minutes. For teams a 90-day pilot is available.
Practise the demo out loud
Enter your product and the objection “we already have a tool” and try answering it with a question. Free plan: one call a day, up to 5 minutes.
